Hello my fellow travelers on The Souls Journey!
I’ve been wanting to write about the Queen Archetype for a few weeks now, but wasn’t quite sure which angle to take. She represents so much from benevolent protector to controlling bitch. She is controlling and aggressive, but often as a means of protecting those in her care. To those she is compassionate and protective. How does she show up in your life?
Join me this week as we read a tale of four queens 🫅🏻👸🏻🫅🏾👸🏼
~Suzanne
Where the King archetype represents a mentor with more knowledge than you who bestows that knowledge upon you, the Queen represents coming into your own knowledge and greatness. Her story is about you reaching your own potential using the knowledge you already have within you.
Embracing the gifts of the Queen, you tap into your own inner strengths and reflect to others their strengths. Rather than teaching, you are a living example for others to accept the knowledge within.
There are four queens in the tarot, similar to the four suits in a deck of playing cards. Each has her own message for you:
The Queen of Cups - Compassion
This queen reminds you to get in touch with your heart. You are here to hold space for others, to give them the space to grow and be seen. Look deep in yourself to find your compassion, learn to love to yourself and be compassionate of others. Learn to follow your heart and not let others crush your spirit. Most of all, have compassion for yourself. Love who you are and where you are in life. After all, who, what, and where you are is due to choices, and choices can change your experiences in a moment.
The Queen of Wands - Courage
The Queen of Wands tells you to be courageous. Know who you are and what you stand for. Stand up for yourself, then stand up for others who cannot stand up for themselves. Have the courage to look inside yourself and face your fears, face your shadows, face what’s truly holding you back. Have the courage to own your beliefs and not judge others for theirs. Judgement, of ourselves or others, is not our job. True courage is being authentically you, without judging or feeling judged.
The Queen of Swords - Truth
This queen invites you to embrace the truth of your life. Who are you, really? There is no need to judge who you are or compare yourself to others’ expectations. Be clear with your boundaries and communicate clearly your desires and what you stand for. What truth will you express to the world? To yourself? Lying to ourselves, speaking in contrast to who we are and what we want in life, only brings the sword down severing the link between our desires and our reality.
The Queen of Pentacles - Prosperity
Pentacles represent riches, both financial and all the blessings of life. There is enough for everyone and we are all deserving of all we need and desire. Do you believe it? Do you believe you deserve abundance? Believe it! It’s there for you and all of us. When you believe and open your heart to receive, you will, indeed, receive. And when you give, you will also receive. We can’t receive riches if we are holding tight to things we no longer need. This is a scarcity mindset. To allow space for more to come into your life, you need to let go of what you have and be open to give.
Which queen speaks to you? How do you see each of them playing out in your life? Which one(s) do you have the most resistance to?
