An Owner’s Manual For You!
Is there a one-size-fits-all solution to living your best life?
I recently bought a new car, and, as they always do, it came with an owner’s manual. The problem with owner’s manuals is that they have soooo much detail that we rarely bother to read them until there’s a problem. But once we find the info we need, like magic, everything makes sense and works again!
Our lives have owner’s manuals as well. There are a few to choose from, depending on your make and model (personal style and beliefs) like the Bible and other religious texts, personality assessments, and astrology.
Since there’s no one-size-fits-all life, a good owner’s manual needs to be flexible enough to accommodate a variety of issues and challenges we might face. We can take some and leave the rest as needed.
Let’s explore one of my favorite owner’s manuals 🚗

We get life advice all the time, from parents, gurus, and even social media.
Telling people to be true to themselves and not listen to the discouraging word of others is great advice, and for some folks, that reminder is all they need.
Telling people to follow their bliss is also great advice, but how do you do that when you have a job you’re committed to in order to just pay the bills?
Knowing what to do is very different from knowing how to do it.
How do I listen to my heart?
How do I speak my mind?
How do I set boundaries?
How do I share my gifts?
Human Design is your user’s manual for everything that’s YOU!
Just as the manual for a camera tells you all about the features and how they work, the manual doesn’t have your artistic eye to catch the perfect sunset photo or your composition of nature scenes catching the perfect lights and shadows. You use the tool and adapt its abilities to your style of photographic art.
Likewise, human design can tell you about how you are best designed to operate in the world, but it doesn't label you or put you in a box. Your chart will show you aspects of your design, but you choose how you apply those features to your life. You decide how to apply the lessons of an open head or heart center. You make the choices you feel most comfortable with using your splenic or emotional authority.
In short, you get to craft the story of your life with a more complete picture of all the pieces of your personal puzzle.
While Human Design is a great “how-to guide”, it’s still just a “guide”. A tool for you to create your life, just as a photographer uses the camera as a tool to create his own artistic expressions.
So, back to the questions…
How do I listen to my heart?
How do I speak my mind?
How do I set boundaries?
How do I share my gifts?
Sadly (or thankfully) there’s not just one answer. I’d love to be able to tell you to just do A, B, C and your heart will be open, or meditate on X, Y, Z to set better boundaries. But I can’t.
We’re not all the same.
Our gifts, our challenges, and how we approach problems are all different.
I could say, “some people find their gifts by…” or “some people listen to their heart by…”. But you are not “some people”.
We all want someone to tell us how to be happy, what our purpose is, and where our path will lead. That would be so easy! Ultimately, your answers will come from within you.
What Human Design can do is help you find your own answers. I can help you get a copy of your free Human Design chart (your personal owners manual) and direct you to some amazing free resources online to get you started. I can also help you begin to decipher your chart if you like, and understand how to use it to answer the above questions.
As you explore your design and apply it to your every day decisions, more of who and what you are will be revealed and you’ll be able to embrace the beautiful being that you are.
Human Design is about moving into alignment with who you’re not and remembering who you are at your essence. When you remember who you are and how you are designed to operate in the world, decisions come more easily and life opens up to you, revealing the opportunities you may have overlooked. Life simply flows. For your free Human Design chart and a brief reading, drop me a line!
