Who’s in Control of Your Life?
How living your life for others leads to stress and burnout
Who really is in control of your life?
Too often we are actually living our lives on other people’s schedules and under other people’s expectations.
One example of this is adjusting your schedule to fit everyone else’s needs.
This isn’t to say we don’t do things for other people, but if it’s a habit for you and it takes away from you fulfilling goals in your life, then you’ll want to look at that.
Let’s say you’re writing a book, or trying to write a book, and you set aside certain times for your writing.
This is something I went through, so I’m speaking from my own experience. I purposefully scheduled my writing time around my family, while they were working or busy with other activities so it wouldn’t interfere with “family time”.
But if someone changed their plans at the last minute, I often felt like I needed to set my writing aside and accommodate their changes. I needed to be there when they needed something or wanted to go somewhere.
I didn’t hold true to my own boundaries. This began to build resentment on my part. My needs were constantly being postponed.
I needed to look into my sacral center and honor my own boundaries. I especially needed to contemplate my open Gate 27*!
*(Read more about Gate 27, also known as Gene Key 27)
The theme of this gate is that always giving to others at your own expense will cause suffering.
When you start to feel resentment that others aren’t honoring your boundaries, you may need to ask yourself if YOU are honoring your boundaries, or are you giving control of your life to others?
So, what are all these gates and centers and designs you keep talking about?
