I love the way you turn this use of over confidence into developing the actual skill. Not just fake it till you make it. But be inspired by your dreams and develop the skills to make them a reality.

Thank you, and yes, the skill could be used either way. I do try to find a lesson or ray of sunshine when I can 🌞

Way to go Brian! I catapulted in the first 5 years of my IT career by speaking with confidence until I burned out from imposter syndrome. Sad thing is that by the time I burned out, I really DID know what I was talking about.

Burnout is definitely a risk if the “fake it til you make it” doesn’t resonate with your true self. For my friend, it’s more of the “trickster” rather than trying to be something else. But, as I’m sure you saw with speaking with confidence, it can be stressful (probably why I didn’t do well in corporate life, I’d end up saying what was really on my mind and f things up 😉)

Love this! "If we can amaze and impress others with our confident statements (made up or otherwise), why can’t we amaze ourselves and believe whatever we want to be true? We just might surprise ourselves at just how we can make anything we think or say into reality." So true. Our thoughts are incredibly powerful. And the ramen looks scrumptious. Just subscribed! 💖💖💖

When I did the illustration for my “hero/introductory post”, I wrote writer and illustrator. At the time, I didn’t feel like I could say I was in the same realm as paid writers or artists, but I believed I still was a writer and illustrator.

Sometimes the bold declaration is the spring board that we never knew we needed. Thanks for that reminder. xx

Absolutely! You illustrated, therefore you are an illustrator. You write, therefore you are a writer 😉
